Interested in Consignment?  Here’s how it works:

We preview items to determine if they are a good match for our store. Digital photos may be sent to us via email along with the information listed below. One good overall image of each item is usually sufficient. Email to: deb@modelesfurniture.com

  • Manufacturer’s name
  • Age
  • Where purchased
  • Price paid.  Original invoices are always helpful
  • Overall dimensions
  • Details about overall condition; noticeable wear, damage, spots/stains/sun-fading, loose joints, water-rings, etc.

Pricing depends on the individual item; it’s overall condition and the level of demand. Generally, customers expect to pay no more than half of retail price in a consignment setting.  Some items have to be priced lower, a few can be priced higher.

Once we agree on pricing, we will provide you with a written consignment contract. Delivery of furniture to Modele’s is at the Consignor’s expense, but we can help with arrangements by recommending the most cost-efficient method.

The contract provides for a 60 day consignment period. Once the item has sold we send 50% of the sale price to you within 14 days of the sale. We are fully responsible for your merchandise while it is in our possession.

If your item does not sell within 60 days, we can discuss extending the contract with price reductions, or you may arrange to pick your item up.
